The journey to revive the Clinton County Arts Council, over the last three years, has been filled with some wonderful success stories and some bumps in the road. Nothing out of the ordinary for an organization trying to reorganize and work through some growing pains. Through the Art Walks we have had an opportunity to showcase the talent of local artists from all arenas of the artistic community. We have also brought recognition to the talent and potential that lies within our Clinton County student population, from pre-k through college. We have many hopes and dreams for the future and want to know what ideas you might have to contribute to the growing of the council and the arts in our county. Feel free to put your hopes and dreams on paper and send them to the office. The Board will look at all input and consider how it might fit into our plans for the future.

This year we have been able to send out membership cards to all who have paid their 2007 membership to date. If you recently sent in your membership, you will be receiving your card in the mail, soon. We have been able to continue to grow with the help and support of all of you. Please encourage anyone you know to become a member of the CCAC. Your membership has helped us to keep our space in the building at 7 West Main Street, in Lock Haven. The consignment shop and gallery is open to artists who wish to display and sell their work. Classes are conducted as we are able to have a minimum group of five participants. Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 there is open studio time. It is an opportunity for artists to come and work on a current project in an atmosphere that is open to discussion or critique, if requested. Above all the most important reason to become a member of the CCAC is knowing that your membership supports the ongoing need to grow the recognition and growth of the arts in our county. We live in a time when this arena is taking a lesser place in education and importance in society. The arts are the way people and cultures tell their stories, capture their history and reveal the truth and beauty of the world in which they live. Whether performance, literary, musical, painting or other various forms of the fine arts, they are and always have been important in the growth of our civilizations throughout history.

Thank you for continuing to share in and support the vision of the Clinton County Arts Council. We look forward to your continued support and input as we continue to move forward.

Judith Halpate
Co-Chair of Membership.

Wish List: One four drawer file cabinet.
One metal cabinet with doors that lock (about 4 to 6 shelves)

RMWrwykoff68@gmail.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7501114887692591201.post-19802086165503896492007-12-16T23:25:00.000-08:002007-12-16T23:33:49.215-08:00WelcomeGreetings and welcome to the new weblog for the Clinton County Arts Council.
